The queen's new throne!

So we waited just a litte bit but finally decided to get out Ansley's new car seat and turn her around facing front. I am so glad that we went ahead and got it out. We thought it would be a good idea to let her be in the new seat for a little bit before little bro comes along which could be sooner rather than later. She loves it! She looks so small in it but she will plenty of room to grow into it. It's going to be weird turning around and seeing 2 car seats in the car here shortly. I go back to see the doctor on Wednesday to get "checked" which I have to say...I am really looking forward to (NOT!). That is one thing I do remember from being pregnant with Ansley...how uncomfortable it was to get checked and I am not too excited but I guess it has to be done. I will let you know how that goes. In the meantime, I am trying to get his car seat cleaned up and ready to go.

Party time

Mike and I decided to have a little birthday party for Ansley in Memphis with all of her little friends. We didn't do anything too crazy since we had a party for her in Huntsville but we really wanted her to have something with our friends in Memphis too. We had some cake and ice cream and just let the kids play. It was nice to see everyone...we had not had the chance to see all of our friends since we had moved back from Orlando. We tried to get pics of all the kids but that didn't happen cause it was a little crazy but here are a few that we did get. It was short but sweet and Ansley had a ball. I think next year will be a lot of fun because she will be running around and a lot more aware of what is going on.

Here is the birthday girl!

The birthday cake...had a ladybug theme if you couldn't guess

...the alien (as Mike called them) little ladybug cupcakes I attempted to make

Lizzy...one of the newest additions to our gang...she's adorable!

Dylan...another addition to the gang...she is too cute

Getting ready for that cake to come...

...but then deciding she isn't a big fan of getting down and dirty in cake

Mari Lampton trying to open that darn Pinata

Maggie Moo Moo was more interested in running up and down the sidewalk

Jules is taking a swing at it

Here is Will taking the final blow that opened up the Pinata

All the kids went running to the candy once the Pinata was cracked open

Girl time...just what the doctor ordered

We had a play date the other day with our friend Libby and it was just what was needed...some girl time. Ansley had a blast playing with Libby and I was able to get in a little girl time with Libby's mom, Elizabeth. It is so nice to be able to have the kids play and be able to talk and relax even for just a little while. We just don't do it often enough but hopefully we can try and make it happen a little more often. It's so good for them to play together and it's also good for the moms.

Birthday bash Korean style

The clan...still needed Uncle Jason, Uncle Justin, Aunt Tricia & Kayla

Here's the birthday girl...

So everyone knows that my mom is Korean and, in Korea, the first birthday is a HUGE deal and very important. Since Ansley was turning one...my mom decided to throw her a little birthday party Korean style. We went to Huntsville because it was just easier for her to prepare everything there rather than here in Memphis. There was a huge table set up that had tons of fruit, cakes, rice cakes (a Korean thing), etc. along with another table with every possible Korean food that you could dream of. My mom started preparing days in advance and worked all day for her birthday celebration. Part of the tradition is for a pen and paper, money and food to be laid out on the table and to see what the child grabs for first. In Ansley's case, she went for the pen (and paper) and then went for the money. What does this mean you might ask? Well, the pen and paper means that she will be a scholar, the money means that she will be okay financially, and the food means she will not go without food. Anyway, my mom and dad even bought Ansley her own little traditional Korean outfit which she wore during the party. It was a little big for her but she still looked very cute in her outfit...so thank you Grandma and Grandpa. I did want to say another thank you to my mom and dad for all the hard work and everything you guys did for Ansley's special Korean birthday. We were able to take some pictures (but not as many as we would have liked to because we forgot to bring our good camera and video camera to Huntsville) which I have put up...so enjoy!

This is just one of the tables that Grandma set up for Ansley

"I'm confused...which of the 6 cameras should I look at"?

Here she is going for the pen...we knew she was a smartie

"I'm getting old...already 1 years old!"

Such a smart girl...going for the big bucks

Mommy and Daddy cannot believe their sweet angel is 1

Proud Grandma and Grandpa...Ansley sure is lucky

Thumbs up from the doc

We took Ansley for her 1 year appointment the other day and it was heartbreaking... for me at least. They had to draw a little blood but Ansley took that really well. In fact, she smiled while the nurse was doing it which was the last thing I was expecting her reaction to be. When she got her shots, however, she was not all smiles. It was hard listening to her cry but once it was over and Daddy held her for a minute...she was all better. She weighs 19 pounds and is almost 30 inches long! The doctor told us that she is pretty long for her age and her weight is a little low for her height but nothing to worry about. We have switched her to milk and are doing away with the bottle so we will see how this all turns out. She already has her 2 bottom teeth in and she is now starting to get 3 teeth on top! She is going to have a mouth full of teeth here shortly. She is not full on walking yet but she is taking 6 to 8 steps at a time so she is getting there. Yesterday, all we did was go back and forth across the room walking. That was a lot of fun for Ansley and a lot of worry and work for me but no biggie. Anyway, just wanted to update everyone on how she is doing and how the doctor appointment went. I also went to the doctor this past week and I am 32 weeks...only 8 weeks left...yikes! I am only measuring at 29 weeks but the doctor said that he might just be a small baby and I have nothing to worry about. She did tell me to prepare for him to come early though since I had Ansley so early. I told Mike the other night that he (Baby Miller) could be here in less than 5 weeks from now...how scary is that? It is defintely a wake up call and I am doing my best to keep him in there as long as I can. Anyway, I go back to the doctor next week and will let you know how that goes. If I am still measuring small, the doctor said she might do an ultrasound so I will keep you updated on that too. Well, I am going to post pictures of Ansley's birthday up next so stay tuned...

Happy Birthday Ansley!

Our sweet baby is turning 1 today...can you believe it?!?! I cannot believe that it has already been a year. I remember thinking months and months ago that this day would never get here...and here it is. Mike and I are so lucky to have a sweet baby like Ansley...she has been a complete joy and the best baby. We are truly blessed and do not know what we would do if she was not in our lives.
