She's got some talent

Well, Ansley has been going to Mother's Day Out and she really enjoys it. I can tell a huge difference in her since she has been going and I love it. They do lots of things at "school" which includes playing, music time, learning signs...and art time. The week before Thanksgiving...they sent home many of her projects and I have to say...she's got some talent. I was pretty impressed with her artistic abilities. Mike decided to take some pics of these projects so we can show them to you all.

We'll get there someday

Well, Ansley is quickly approaching 17 months (even when I say it...it doesn't seem real) and Tyson is already 3 months so they don't exactly know how to play together just yet. I will say, though, that she is much more interested in being around Ty and helping me with him. Ty is also becomming so much more aware and I love seeing him develop more and more every day. I know that we aren't there yet but I take comfort in knowing that we will get there someday and one day...they will love to play together...and that I can't wait for.

Loving it

Ty is smiling so much now and starting to "talk" to us and we are loving it. He is even beginning to laugh and it is so cute. He is starting to develop his little personality and I am so curious what he is going to be like.

Definitely not twins...but close

We have noticed lately that Ty looks a lot like Ansley did when she was his age. They really don't favor one another right now but when I look back at pictures of Ansley when she was younger...the resemblance is crazy. Ansley has changed her looks so much from when she was a baby so I am guessing that Ty is going to look like she does now when he gets to be her age. They looked exactly alike when they were first born (literally when they took their first breath of air) but then I thought after I brought him home that they didn't look so much alike but looking back at pics of Ansley...they do take after one another much more than I had thought. They definitely don't look like twins but close enough...

Ansley in action

Ansley on her Halloween adventure...

Happy (very) belated Halloween

Okay, I know this is very late but you know what they say...better late than never. I have been trying to play catch up with the blog since our computer was out of service so I am just now getting to Halloween. We had a good time this year with Halloween...we actually left the house. Last year, Ansley was in bed before it started and we didn't do anything. We wanted her to go around the neighborhood even though she was actually trick or treating. It was fun though. We took Ty in the stroller and Ansley walked around the entire neighborhood. She had a blast watching the other kids and was so TIRED when we got home...but it was well worth it.

Boo!

So at Mother's Day Out...Ansley had one of many art projects...but this is the first one that was sent home. It is a ghost made from her little foot. Mike was very impressed with Ansley's artistic abilities but he is probably just a little biased. Anyway, thought I would take a picture and show you all...

A girl's best friend...make that friends

Archie and Parker have found themselves a new best friend...and her name is Ansley. Daddy caught her in action feeding them her favorite snack...goldfish. I am not really a fan of her doing this but Daddy just thought it was too cute so he let her do it anyway. It is pretty funny to watch though and Ansley just gets the biggest kick out of it. When you watch this video...you have to mute the music and listen to it because it is so funny and too darn cute and her laugh is contagious!

She loves her apple sauce

Ansley loves to eat with her hands...but she loves her a spoon and some apple sauce. We have started to let her eat with a spoon and although she definitely has not mastered this yet...she is getting much better at it.

This smile can brighten my day anytime

I'm sorry...can you repeat that?

Our little man is going to be 12 weeks old on Thursday and I cannot believe it?!?! I just think it is crazy. I know that time flies by but wow. I guess having 2 little ones 13 months apart can keep you busy but I am just amazed about how quickly time is flying by and how much he is growing. He is holding his head up really good and is smiling so much. He has started to "talk" to us and if I can get him going...he will laugh...it's the cutest thing. Ansley is really loving being a big sister now. She will come over and give him kisses and "pet" him. I say "pet" because we have our 2 dogs and she pets Ty the same way she pets them. She will bring him toys and will actually let Hannah the Hippo (which is her lovie that she loves more than anything so this is big for her) lay with him for just a bit. Anyway, I think that they are going to be best friends and I really can't wait until Ty gets bigger and they can play together.

Doctor update

We took Ansley and Tyson (yes...at the same time) to their appointments. Ansley had her 15 month (which was really more like her 16 month because I waited so I could take her with Ty) check up and Tyson had his 2 month check up. Ansley was in great health and the doctor seemed impressed...as he was asking us if she knew where her nose and belly button were...she was pointing them out to him. She weighed in at 20 pounds and 31 1/2 inches tall. She is certainly growing in length but the doctor said we will probably see that slow down a good bit at her next appointment. Tyson, on the other hand, was 11 pounds and 12 ounces and was 23 1/2 inches tall. He was much more in weight than I had expected and much longer. I honestly did not think he would weigh that much. Although he is a big boy...he is still my sweet little baby. He looked good as well and was in great health. They both had several shots (Ansley had 5 and Ty had 4) and both received a clean bill of health. Anyway, they are doing great and I am truly lucky to have such beautiful, awesome babies. It can be hard some days...but Ansley's kisses and Tyson's smiles make it all worth while.

Our little "basket" of joy

**don't forget to mute the music**

So we have these little baskets that I use to put Tyson's towels and washcloths in. They are not regular sized laundry baskets...they are small. Ansley has become very good about "exploring" and finding herself in situations that sometimes is okay and sometimes is not really okay. For instance, a few weeks ago...I caught Ansley is our bathroom sitting on the toilet playing with the toilet paper. How she got up on the toilet (especially without hurting herself) is amazing in itself. She also climbed up on the bench of our breakfast table with one foot on the table. She has become very curious about oh...everything. One day we noticed that she was not in the room with us and being very quiet and decided we needed to go look for her. Well, we found her alright. She had dumped out Tyson's washcloths and plopped herself in the basket. The only thing we could do is laugh...and grab the camera.

Few and far between

With the cold weather growing near...there are not a lot of nice sunny days left. We have had a few in the past few weeks that I was not expecting. We wanted to take full advantage of these days and let Ansley and Ty enjoy the weather. We took them outside to play and it was really nice. Ansley and Daddy played while Ty watched from the patio. It was a win win for everyone. With the cold weather approaching, I think we need to be outside as much as possible.

Bath time has NEVER been better

Ansley loves baths and she always has. She is a water baby through and through. There is nothing she loves more than water and bath time is just about one of her very favorite things. I really didn't think that she could love a bath more but I was very very wrong. Daddy decided to get in a tub with her with bubbles and she had the best time ever.

Too cute for words

Playing a little dress up

Several weeks ago I thought I had found the perfect Xmas outfit for my sweet little babies. The reason I say "thought" is because Mike quickly shot this down. He hated the outfits and made me promise to take them back. I did try the outfits on them to make sure they fit okay and quickly realized that maybe Mike had a point. After some consideration, I had to admit that Mike was right and that there was no way that this was going to be the best choice for her because she would freeze to death. I did end up taking them back but not before I had snapped a few pictures. So here we are playing dress up and pointing our favorite body part out.
